Part One: Events and Exhibitions
Welcome to the first of our annual roundup blog series, where we’ll be looking back at our biggest moments from 2023! As we take you back through our proudest moments, we hope you’ll feel encouraged to see what we plan to bring to the world of sustainable packaging next year and beyond.
This week, we’re looking back at the fantastic shows and events we were able to attend this year – beginning with Packaging Innovations at NEC Birmingham!
In February, the Reedbut Group team welcomed the crowds at Packaging Innovations 2023, attending the event for the second year in a row. As part of our showcase, we demonstrated three exclusive eCommerce products; our award-winning eLetterbox, the eLok with an improved design and more secure locking mechanism, and the e-Envelope, which was shortlisted for the show’s Innovation Gallery.
Our corrugated cardboard exhibition stand was designed, printed, and cut out on-site at our Milton Keynes factory, and was certainly a talking point. We did the same for some later events this year, and our stand never failed to attract lots of attention!
Only a couple of weeks after Packaging Innovations, we were off to ExCeL London for the eCommerce Packaging and Labelling Expo. This was another brilliant opportunity for us to showcase our eCommerce packaging solutions, and the wide variety of bespoke boxes we’ve designed and manufactured for happy customers. It was a new show for us, so we made sure to make our debut appearance at the exhibition memorable! We built a whole new stand, taking advantage of a wider space, where visitors could meet the team and learn about everything we offer when it comes to planet-friendly eCommerce packaging.
In June we visited Hamburg for WTCE – the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo. It was an exciting chance to demonstrate the innovations behind our exclusive skytidy® range of sustainable airline products, with new advancements in packaging for inflight hygiene and catering.
We were very pleased to announce at the event that we’re now producing skytidy® lite, a brand-new corrugated version of our airline trash compactor box! It offers for a lighter, more cost-effective solution to onboard rubbish collection. Alongside this new innovation, part of our stand display featured an in-situ demonstration of skytidy® ecotrays for cabin trolleys, made from fully recyclable materials, and we also demonstrated our new skytidy® oven trays, a recyclable alternative to ovenable baskets.
Our final event of the year was London Packaging Week at ExCeL London in September. Once again our design team worked incredibly hard to put our stand together, cutting and assembling the whole thing at our central site in Milton Keynes before building it for the exhibition – and what a result! So many visitors approached us just to take photos of it, or say how good it looked. We were extremely proud to have built something that really showed who we are as a designer and manufacturer of cardboard packaging.
Another proud moment was a big win for the eReturn, our plastic and tape-free returnable box that won the Innovation Showcase Award! Lots of the visitors to our stand were interested in how it works, and we were thrilled that so many of them voted for the eReturn to win against some very stiff competition.
All in all, this year has offered a range of fantastic opportunities for us to show exhibition visitors what we’re all about, continue to build better relationships with our customers, and make ourselves known as innovators in the world of sustainable packaging.
Next week, we’ll be looking further at all the brand-new exclusive products we launched throughout 2023. Keep an eye out!
