Reedbut Group annual roundup Highlights from 2022

Part One: The arrival of our brand new printer/die-cutter machine

Welcome to the first of our annual roundup blog series, where we’ll be looking back at our biggest moments from 2022. As we take you back through our proudest moments, we hope you’ll feel encouraged by our achievements see what we plan to bring to the world of sustainable packaging through the end of this year and beyond.

First of all, we’re going all the way back to February, when our Milton Keynes site saw the exciting installation of a brand new inline double-sided print and die-cut machine.

This fantastic new machine has allowed us the opportunity throughout this year to add high-quality print to both sides of a box in a single pass. This includes processing materials from E flute up to BC flute, and with infrared dryers placed after each unit to dry the ink, we can also manufacture coated materials. The machine is currently running on two shifts, and we are looking to imminently increase capacity to 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Not only has all of this improved our overall capacity and output, but the entire printing process is both more cost-effective and environmentally friendly, and we can pass all those benefits on to our customers.

“This new investment will allow us to improve efficiencies with the ability to print on both sides of the board in a single pass, thus reducing manufacturing times and offering our customers packaging manufactured with the most cost-effective and environmentally considered method.”

With demand increasing for our eCommerce customers in particular to provide a unique and memorable unboxing experience for their own customers, double-sided print has become a hugely valuable part of the packaging services we provide. A single-colour box exterior opening to reveal up to three colours inside, featuring eye-catching branded imagery and messaging printed in water-based ink, creates the perfect backdrop to make our customers’ products shine.

Since its installation, our new printer/die-cutter has helped us both grow as a business and deliver even better customer service. We’ve been able to offer our customers a wider range of options when it comes to designing their packaging, including more colours to choose from to better reflect their brands, and the reassurance that their packaging will be as environmentally friendly as possible without compromising on print quality.

We’re very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve this year with our new machine. We aim to continue developing our design and manufacturing processes to ensure all our customers’ needs are met, with state-of-the-art machinery that helps us protect the environment through innovative packaging solutions.

Next week we’ll be looking at another big highlight of our year – the launch of a new and exclusive Reedbut Group product for airlines. Keep an eye out!
